I just signed up for a workshop on flash fiction, which this particular writer’s center defines as 1,000 words or less.
The first “assignment” was to write a piece using the words tickle, conductor, toenail, greasy, hesitantly and hairpin.
Here’s what I came up with:
If I had known that Conductor Bob was going to propose tonight over a plate of greasy chicken from the dining car, I would have changed by toenail polish from “Hesitantly Honeydew” to “Tickle Me Pink” and worn my special occasion hairpins.
Is it a short story? You tell me.
