I have to agree with Andy Williams, this is the most wonderful time of the year.
But it’s not because of Christmas.
Or rather it’s not because of the birth of Christ or presents (although I am currently enjoying the funky computer lap desk I received that allows me to write in bed without setting my netbook on my legs and burning them) or any of that other hoopla.
It’s a great time of year because of vacation, which is because of the holiday that just happens to be Christmas so I guess Christmas does make this the most wonderful time of the year after all.
I’m not just on vacation. The office is closed so I don’t have to worry about what’s happening while I’m away or even think about work.
Ok, so I did have to go in this morning to sign payroll.
And I am checking my email occasionally, but not more than once a day. Maybe twice. Three times last Sunday to see if the designer had sent an ad I had to get to the newspaper right away.
And I do keep wondering about that grant, the one I thought we would hear about a couple of weeks ago which makes me think we didn’t get it.
But other than that, I am completely work-free. It’s vacation the best?
